Say I’m a good cook. I can make a great meal at home, but eating at a nice restaurant is an experience. They’re both “experiences” by the dictionary definition, but calling something an experience — with emphasis — implies there’s something richer about it. Venmo is an experience in ways that Cash App isn’t, because there’s more to it than just sending money.
My claim isn’t that Cash App has no product strategy, but that the product strategy they do have isn’t necessarily the best approach in a consumer market (as opposed to enterprise).
